Your questions.

Sofwave uses Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam technology, known as SUPERB, to deliver energy into the skin and stimulate collagen remodelling. It is a non-invasive treatment for facial lines and wrinkles and lifting suitable brow, under-chin and neck tissue.
A typical treatment takes around 30-45 minutes, depending on the areas and plan. Allow additional time for consultation, preparation and any topical anaesthetic.
Many people begin with one treatment, while some need a further session. Your clinician recommends a plan based on your skin, goals and response rather than a fixed course for everyone.
The ultrasound handpiece is applied to the skin’s surface. The Sofwave ultrasound treatment itself does not involve needles or incisions.
Heat and discomfort can occur as energy is delivered. Topical anaesthetic may help, and the built-in cooling system supports surface protection. Treatment should not be described as painless for everyone.
Many patients return to their normal routine quickly, but redness, swelling and tenderness can occur. Your practitioner gives you aftercare advice and explains what to expect for your individual treatment.
Possible adverse effects include significant pain, tenderness, bruising, pigment changes, persistent redness or swelling, and skin injury. Open wounds, severe or cystic acne in the treatment area, and certain electronic implants can rule out treatment. Disclose pregnancy, breastfeeding, medication, implants and previous procedures during assessment.
Read the manufacturer’s safety informationTell your clinician about all previous injectables, devices and surgery. The manufacturer does not recommend treatment directly over areas with dermal filler. Your assessment determines whether treatment, different placement or an alternative plan is appropriate.
Sofwave may be considered across different skin tones. Your clinician still assesses your skin, medical history and risk of pigment changes before recommending treatment.
Changes may develop over weeks as your skin remodels, with progress often assessed around three months. Response and longevity vary; a particular level of improvement cannot be guaranteed.
No. Sofwave offers a non-surgical option for selected concerns. It does not remove excess skin or deliver the same changes as surgery. We discuss whether it fits your goals and explain alternatives when appropriate.
